Blake Matthew is an award-winning composer known for his work in film, video games, and trailers, with over 90 projects to his credit. His notable scoring credits include the feature film Infeccion, which premiered at FICG in the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, the horror film V/H/S 85 presented by Shudder, the intimate drama Lost Lake Confessions (Tubi, YouTube), and Satanic Hispanics: Nahuales, which had a North American theatrical release in 2023 (Epic Pictures). Blake also composed the music for the Web3 video game Tiny Colony, CryptTV’s Mistress of Bones, and co-scored the popular YouTube Star Wars fan series Bucketheads.

Blake's music / sound design has been featured in trailers for Five Nights At Freddy’s (Blumhouse, Universal) and Monkey Man (Universal, BRON Studios). He is affiliated with the trailer music houses Studio Rev and Transported Music. Blake has been nominated for three Leo Awards, winning Best Music in a Motion Picture for his Infeccion score, and has received two nominations from the Canadian Screen Music Awards for Best Original Score for a Short Film and Best Original Score for Games and Interactive Media. In 2023, two movies he scored (V/H/S 85 & Satanic Hispanics) were featured in Fangoria, a leading horror genre magazine and media company.

Blake's collaborative spirit stems from his diverse musical background. He grew up playing in multiple bands, singing in choir for five years, producing electronic music, DJing, and opening for international artists. His work has amassed over 4.7 million plays across various streaming platforms. Blake is a member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada and has apprenticed under veteran Canadian film composers Terry Frewer (Head in the Clouds, Garage Sale Mysteries) and Daniel Ingram (My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake).  When he’s not writing music, you can find him spending time with his dog and enjoying nature.
